How To Contact Your MP

  • Email your MP - Follow the simple instructions at WriteToThem
Which was built by a group of volunteers who thought that it would be a good thing if it were easier for people to contact their MPs
  • Phone your MP. You can contact your MP at Westminster by calling the House of Commons switchboard on 020 7219 3000 and asking to be put through.
  • Write to your MP. MPs are often most responsive to hand-written correspondances.
Send letters to: (Your MP's name), House of Commons, London SW1A 0AA.

Find Out About Your MP

Aside from WriteToThem there are a group of other useful sites for finding more information about your MP's policies, campaigns, and voting patterns.

TheyWorkForYou - "is a non-partisan, partly volunteer-run website which aims to make it easy for people to keep tabs on their elected and unelected representatives in Parliament, and other assemblies." - The most comprehensive source on the web giving you access to a wealth of information on your representatives

HearFromYourMP - "If you enter your details, we'll add you to a queue of other people in your constituency. When enough have signed up, your MP will get sent an email. It'll say "25 of your constituents would like to hear what you're up to. Hit reply to let them know". If they don't reply, nothing will happen, until your MP gets a further email which says there are now 50, then 75, 100, 150 — until it is nonsensical not to reply and start talking."

Constituency Locata - part of the UK Parliamentary website. Includes contact details for MPs, including links to individual websites.

The Public Whip - This site data-mines MP's voting records to help you hold them to account.

Aristotle - Provided by the Guardian. It includes voting histories from recent elections, MP biographies and voting patterns, as well as background information and links about the local area.

Epolitix A reliable source of news and information about events at Westminster and beyond. Includes interviews, fora and in depth search facilities.
