Just Say Sorry, Tony
Welcome to the "Just Say Sorry, Tony" campaign website!
Just Say Sorry (JSS) is a campaign run by Our World Our Say, a progressive, mainstream, non-partisan
group using the Internet to communicate our concerns to politicians, corporate interests,
and opinion formers. Formed originally in January 2003 to oppose Britain's involvement in
Iraq, we have 50,000 active supporters.
Many are calling for Tony Blair's resignation because parliament and the British people were misled into war.
The Iraq Survey group has reported there were no WMD to speak of. Even Kofi Annan has recently voiced his belief that the war was 'illegal'.
It is disgusting that he has not yet offered an apology - a most trivial of gestures - in the face of the most appalling human
cost in Iraq. Far from helping to reduce terrorism, it has actually increased it.
And every day Britain's involvement continues our bill grows by £5 million.
THE GREAT MISLEADER
Yet as the evidence mounts up that Tony got it completely wrong he has shown no willingness to come clean. Now he's saying that Britain must move on. Surely we can't allow that to happen?
Will you join with us to rack up the pressure on Tony Blair by sending him a message now?
We must bring the Prime Minister to account over Iraq, and not to
provide him with an easy way out. We have distributed 200,000 postcards in the national press,
and will be sending out tens of thousands of emails inviting supporters to deluge him with messages.
With the support of key MPs we're aiming to really put the spotlight on Tony's inability to admit responsibility for a war that
has done so much damage everywhere.

IS JUST SAYING SORRY ENOUGH?
Saying 'sorry' wouldn't really be enough but it would be a major admission of fault and a recognition that Britain can never go down the same route again. We want the Prime Minister to know Iraq will not conveniently go away as an issue. That is why we are distributing pre-printed postcards in national newspapers and magazines, urging people to mail them to Tony Blair.
And the fact that he is unlikely to apologise provides further proof of how very much out of touch with the British people he really is. No wonder a recent poll published by the Committee on Standards in Public Life showed trust in Ministers has slumped to a new low in the wake of the Iraq war. We're aiming to get tens of thousands of people to press him to accountability. Whatever he says or does, Tony Blair cannot be allowed to ignore this issue.
Tony Blair now has his final opportunity to come clean. Any refusal to do so makes the call for him to be impeached or resign much stronger.
